Hiking in The Green Perigord

Alone or together they can practice all types of excursions: hiking, horse riding or mountain biking. On some ways, trails and interpretive themes have been developed.

Greenway : Thiviers-Saint Pardoux la Rivière

voieverte1Real green belt 17 km open only to hiking in the heart of green Périgord, the path takes the route of the former railway Thiviers-St Pardoux.
The turning of the shade of deciduous forests, the wild valleys of the Cole and Dronne are available to view. Along the way, do not miss a visit to Saint-Jean-de-Cole, one of the most beautiful villages in France. The nearby towns of Saint-Romain and St. Clement, St. Martin de Fressengeas, Milhac-de-Nontron welcome you, as Thiviers and Saint-Pardoux-la-riviere will offer services and entertainment.
A course that lends itself to all kinds of hiking, mountain biking, horse riding.

 

Green Perigord Bike-rail : Corgnac-Thiviers

velorails02Between valleys and streams, in Dordogne, discover a walk through an old railway unusual charming with its structures and stations of yesterday ... For about 2:00, become a train driver ..... with pedal. Tourism activity and leisure for a family, friends, and accessible to all, from child to grandmother (if you do not ride the course).
For the way Corgnac - Thiviers, you are under trees, an area with refreshments and Ices is waiting for you at the end. Back downhill without pedaling.
Each vélorail can receive up to 5 people (adults or children). For children not taking sitting (baby), take your car-seat.

Retenue de Mialletmiallet2

The Miallet pond is one of the largest bodies of water department. North of the Dordogne a few kilometers from the Haute Vienne department is a place that looks for nature lovers and peaceful hiking.
In winter and spring it is a site of passage of migratory birds. The hiking trail around the reservoir located on the Cole river includes 8 kms open practice hiking and mountain biking.
Pond open to fishing.
Picnic area - Observatory Discovery Trail.

Etang de Saint Estèphe

Located in the northern department, a few kilometers from Nontron in Green Perigord, Saint Estèphe Pond is a site that has been completely renovated in recent years. In a site surrounded by beautiful forests, it offers many activities throughout the year between swimming in summer, fishing, hiking...
It mainly whitefish fishing. Grand Etang Saint Estèphe is part of network of Perigord Sensitive Natural Areas.

Base de loisirs de Rouffiac

North of the department, bordering the Dordogne, Haute-Vienne and the Corrèze, Rouffiac is based on a large water reservoir created on the Little Loue river.
It offers many activities throughout the year between swimming in summer, fishing, hiking...
The site has one of the only water skiing (tv skis Aquitaine).
It is also famous for fishing for predators (pike, zander, perch).
